AERL’s rolling chip down by 9 percent in 2012

Nasdaq-listed VIP room gaming promoter Asia Entertainment & Resources Ltd ended 2012 with rolling chip turnover of US$18.23 billion (MOP145.8 billion), an average of US$1.52 billion per month. That represented a 9-percent year-on-year drop. Overall, Macau casino gross gaming revenue increased 13.5 percent for 2012. The decline was attributable to the company’s self-directed tightening of credit to agents due to the slowing economy in the mainland, AERL said. The company’s rolling chip turnover for last month was US$1.3 billion, down 26 percent year-over-year. AERL promotes four VIP rooms in Macau, at StarWorld, Galaxy Macau, the Venetian Macao and City of Dreams.
