The head of the privately held junket Suncity Group, Alvin Chao Cheok Wa, has had his appointment as a member of the Cultural Industries Council renewed, according to a dispatch in yesterday’s Official Gazette.
The junket head will continue his mandate for a further two years, commencing April 2, 2017.
The Council, created in April 2010, also counts as a member the official who authorised Chau’s mandate renewal, Secretary Alexis Tam Chon Weng. Among the membership is the president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the head of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) plus heads of the Economic Service, Financial Services Bureau, Tourism services and Education services.
