Proposed changes in the law in the mainland may be good for Macau, Union Gaming Research Macau says. A note by the research house says the changes will make it easier for more mainlanders to enter Macau, so increasing tourism. “We believe this could be the quickest of the reforms to be implemented – our guess is as early as 2016 – although no formal time line has been issued,” the note says. It says the changes may also eventually allow the collection of gambling debts in the mainland by legal means.
