The government coffers have received over MOP345.8 million confiscated from former Secretary of Transport and Public Works Ao Man Long, recovered by authorities in the United Kingdom, according to Portuguese-language broadcaster TDM. The former official was previously sentenced to 29 and a half years in prison for acts of corruption. The funds were handed over by the government of the United Kingdom due to a previously signed accord between the MSAR and the territory. A report published by the third standing committee of the Legislative Assembly took note of the funds returned, originating from the sale of a property of the former official as well as accounts held by the disgraced former Secretary in the United Kingdom.
