Crowne Plaza Macau’s GM shrugs off gaming slump

The general manager of the soon-to-open Crowne Plaza Macau hotel, Dominique Berhouet, is not too concerned about the gaming slump because the number of visitors to the city is still rising, Business Daily reports. “The number of tourists is ahead of last year, which indicates to me that people are coming to Macau, perhaps doing something other than gaming,” the newspaper quotes Mr Berhouet as saying. “If that’s the case, and we continue to build this as a destination resort, it’s going to attract leisure guests and families.” Mr Berhouet said his hotel was now due to open in the second quarter of next year.
