February gaming revenue forecast to rise 14-19 pct

Credit Suisse believes casino gross revenue from mass-market gaming was up to 25 percent higher in the first five days of the Lunar New Year holidays than in the corresponding period last year, Bloomberg reports. The news agency quotes a note by Credit Suisse analysts led by Kenny Lau as attributing the rise to an increase of 32 percent in the number of visitors from the mainland. The note says casino gross revenue from VIP gaming may have increased slightly. Credit Suisse projects that Macau’s gross gaming revenue in February will be between 14 percent and 19 percent greater than a year earlier, when the comparative figure was low.
