Guinea-Bissau: Power, water company boss apologises for prolonged outages

Bissau – “Personally, and on behalf of EAGB, I want to apologise to our consumers for the inconvenience we have caused them in terms of the power supply over the past few days”, René Barros said, adding that the problem was difficult.

Out output was almost down to nothing that was just enough to supply the water pumps and now we have just 15 megawatts for the water station, which is very complicated”, he said.

René Barros explained that the situation has to do with trying to find a definitive solution to the electricity supply problem.

The capital of Guinea-Bissau has suffered from prolonged water cuts and power outages in recent weeks. There was no power or water in the capital between Thursday and Sunday.
