Hong Kong product fair attracts 150,000 visitors

The 2017 Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo, Macau attracted some 150,000 visitors, thanks to the Easter holiday and the prolonged duration of the event, organiser Chinese Manufacturers Association of Hong Kong (CMA) told Business Daily.
The event, held between April 13 and April 17 at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Centre, saw the number of participants increase 50,000 compared to last year as its duration increased to five days from three days one year ago.
According to CMA, 160 exhibitors showcased Hong Kong products in 230 booths, but it did not reveal the amount of sales and the number of transactions made during the event.
This was the second time the exhibition had been held in Macau, exposing Hong Kong brands and products to MSAR residents and visitors. The organiser said it believes the event could become an annual fixture in the city.
The exhibition is a spin-off of the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo – an outdoor exhibition held yearly in Victoria Park in the neighbouring SAR, of which its latest edition generated around HK$800 million (US$102.9 million) in sales, the South China Morning Post reported.
