Las Vegas Sands is stalling my court case: Jacobs

The former chief executive of Sands China Ltd, Steven Jacobs, says Las Vegas Sands Corp is stalling his wrongful termination lawsuit to avoid exposés that could put the company in “serious legal and political problems”, Bloomberg reports. Mr Jacobs sued Sand China’s parent company after being fired in 2010. “Las Vegas Sands and Sands China believe they are above the law; too big, too important, and too influential to play by the rules,” Bloomberg quotes Mr Jacobs as saying in a filing made this week with the Nevada Supreme Court. Last month, Las Vegas Sands won a postponement of a hearing on whether the claims against Sands China can be made in Nevada courts. Las Vegas Sands argues Sands China has no presence there. A spokesman denied that the company was trying to delay the case.
