Macau | 254 taxi violations prosecuted during first seven days of Chinese New Year holiday – Police

Macau (MNA) – A total of 254 taxi violations were prosecuted during the first seven days (from February 14 to 19) of the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday, the Public Security Police Force (PSP) revealed on Tuesday.

The official CNY holiday spans February 15 to February 21.

Of the total violations filed, 183 cases were related to drivers overcharging, with 48 cases related to drivers refusing to pick up passengers.

During the seven day period, PSP also prosecuted nine cases of unlicensed taxi services.

In addition, nine cases were filed regarding the illegal discharge or sale of firecrackers and fireworks.
