Macau (MNA) – A total of 77 suspected illegal workers were detected in Macau in August, according to information provided by the Public Security Police Force (PSP) on Monday.
Joint inspections by the police and the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), in collaboration with other unnamed departments were conducted in 403 locations around the city, including construction sites, households, and commercial and industrial establishments.
The number of illegal workers found during the month also represents a decrease of 62.3% when compared to July.
According to comments by the Director of the DSAL, Wong Chi Hong, in April, the Macau SAR Government is considering revising the non-resident workers law to only allow non-residents into the city after securing a job.
