Macau (MNA) – Cash rewards for Macau residents will be increased to MOP10,000 (US$1,239) each, it was confirmed on Thursday during the Chief Executive (CE) Fernando Chui Sai On’s annual policy address.
This marks an increase from the current amount of MOP9,000.
The amount granted to non-permanent residents will be increased to MOP6,000, it was also announced.
The scheme, which is known as the Wealth Partaking Scheme last experienced a change in the 2014 fiscal year, with local permanent residents to receive MOP9,000 and non-permanent residents MOP5,400.
The scheme, which was first implemented in 2008, first set out the amount for permanent residents at MOP5,000 and non-residents receiving MOP3,000.
