Macau (MNA) – Gaming operator Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) entered into a binding Memorandum of Understanding with China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd. (CDFG) to open a flagship store at its future Cotai integrated resort Grand Lisboa Palace.
The store is to have 7,500 square metres to be located at Grand Lisboa Palace 530,000 square meters retail mall and will be CDFG’s first store to open outside the Macau International Airport (MIA).
The store will mainly focus on perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry, apparels, shoes and accessories, travel-related products, amongst other products targeting Chinese tourists.
‘The Hong Kong and Macau market is a retail hotspot in the Asia Pacific, and through the successful tenders for expanded footprint in Hong Kong and Macau airports, as well as the upcoming store in Macau downtown, CDFG has steadily actualised its strategic plan for the region,’ the President of CDFG, Charles Chen, indicated in a release.
Grand Lisboa Palace is expected to open in the second half of 2019 and will include around 2,000 guestrooms in its Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel, Palazzo Versace Macau and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel.
CDFG is a subsidiary of Chinese travel group China National Travel Service Group Corporation Limited, which runs more than 200 duty-free stores in Mainland China.
