Macau | Cultural Affairs Bureau received 15 applications for Venice Biennale

Macau (MNA) – Some 15 applications have been received by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) for the Venice Biennale, according to a reply sent by the bureau to Macau News Agency (MNA) on Tuesday.

According to a bureau representative, a decision will be reached in November.

Teams will comprise of at least two members, namely a curator and an exhibitor.

This will be the seventh time a team from Macau has participated in the world’s oldest biennale exhibition.

The Venice Biennale will be held at the eponymous city on May 19, 2019, which is curated by Ralph Rugoff, with the theme ‘May You Live in Interesting Times.’

In 2017, the exhibition of the Macao-China Pavilion at the 57th Biennale was titled “A Bonsai of My Dreams – Works by Wong Cheng Pou” showcased 17 new artworks by the local artist.
