Macau | EXCLUSIVE: Ocean Gardens apartment destroyed by fire owned by Secretary for Administration and Justice

Macau (MNA) – The apartment located on the Cattleya building in the Ocean Gardens residential complex, which was destroyed by a fire on January 10, is owned by the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Sonia Chan Hoi Fan, and by the Chief of Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Tam Peng Tong, sources revealed to Macau News Agency (MNA).

The Portuguese couple who lived in the property and the apartment owners were in disagreement in regard to whether the damages should be covered by the owners’ insurance of the property or if the couple would have to cover the expenses. But our sources say the divergence has been mitigated as the involved parties are currently discussing a possible solution for the repair expenses.

The incident was first revealed when a local association, Casa de Portugal, launched a campaign to raise MOP200,000 in order to assist the couple to repair the apartment.
