Macau | FIA GT Cup suspended after huge pile up crash at Police Bend

Macau (MNA) – Today’s FIA GT Cup qualification races was suspended after a huge pileup accident in the Maternity Bend on the opening lap suspended the race for almost 20 minutes.

After Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella’s Mercedes-AMG hit the wall at the Police Bend he collided with Laurens Vanthoor’s Porsche 911, immediately raising a red flag.

Last year’s GT Cup was already plagued by several red-flags, with former Audi driver Vanthoor winning the race despite an accident that led his car to finish the track in on his roof.
