Macau | Gov't open public consultation for eliminating discrimination against women report

Government to collect public opinions for composing the third report for the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women

Macau (MNA) – The Macau SAR Government is to include public opinions on the composition of the third report for the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), with the consultation period spanning May 21 to June 21, according to the Legal Affairs Bureau.

In light of the submission of CEDAW by the central government in November this year, both SARs, Macau SAR and Hong Kong SAR, are also included in the related report.

The report, to be composed by the Macau SAR, covers the work and efforts to eliminate discrimination against women in the city over the years between 2010 to 2017, such as promotion, maternity-related issues, rights to participate in politics and receive education, as well as gender equality for job opportunities.
