Macau (MNA) – The Ilha Verde typhoon shelter was closed at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, according to a release by the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS).
The Ilha Verde typhoon shelter was the final safe haven left opened as it was still occupied by three homeless people, according to a representative who spoke to Macau News Agency (MNA).
At 12:30 pm, the three individuals were vacated and all 16 typhoon shelters are now closed.
The 16 typhoon shelters began operating at 9:00 pm on September 15 when residents living in low-lying areas were advised to evacuate due to a red storm surge warning due to the impending Typhoon Mangkhut, which ravaged the city over the weekend.
A total of 1,346 people used the shelters.
