Macau | Inner Mongolia seeks more investment from local enterprises

Macau (MNA) – Inner Mongolia is seeking more investments from Macau SAR enterprises, the Vice-Chairman of Inner Mongolia, Zhang Shaochun, said on Thursday during a promotion meeting on trade collaboration between the MSAR and Inner Mongolia.

At the meeting Mr. Zhang said he hoped that more projects, capital, technology and experts could settle in Inner Mongolia.

Cheong Chou Weng, president of the Board of Directors of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), who also attended the meeting on Thursday, said that the frequency of collaboration between the two regions has been growing significantly, indicating that both regions could complement each others’ needs.

According to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Inner Mongolia has the largest grassland area as well as one of the leading production bases of coal in Mainland China.

HKTDC also shows that Inner Mongolia’s major export items include base metal and related products, chemicals and related products, as well as textile materials.

In 2016, Inner Mongolia’s major export markets included Mongolia, Russia, the US and South Korea, according to HKTDC.
