Macau | Macau police arrest 64 suspects in anti-triad raids

Macau (MNA) – Macau police arrested 64 people on Saturday morning in the Thunderbolt 18 operation against organised crime, according to a press release published by Unitary Police on Saturday.

The raids were part of an annual anti-organised-crime operation conducted by police from Hong Kong, Guangdong province and Macau, with Macau customs joining the Thunderbolt 18 operation for the first time.

On Friday night, police officers in total intercepted 1,415 people during the raid, and have so far taken 64 suspects back to the police station for further investigation.

One man from mainland China was arrested on suspicion of entering the city illegally, and five other suspects, also from the mainland, are facing charges of overstaying.
