Macau | Melco CFO resigns to start venture

Macau (MNA) – Tam Chi Wai, finance director of Melco, resigned today from his position effective on December 31, the board of directors of the company informed in a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx). The filing states that Mr. Tam resigned to focus on a business venture.

The filing also announced that Geoffrey Stuart Davis, executive vice president and the chief financial officer of subsidiary firm Melco Resorts, will be appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of the company. He will take up the position the same day that Mr. Tam finishes, on December 31 this year.

Mr. Davis has been in his current position since April 2011. He joined the company in 2007. Prior to joining Melco, Mr. Davis was a research analyst for Citigroup Investment Research covering the gaming industry from 2001 to 2007, the filing states.

No disagreement

Mr. Tam also resigned from his position as Qualified Accountant, Head of Human Resources and Administration, a member of the Executive Committee and Finance Committee among other functions.

The filing says “he has no disagreement with the Board.”
