Macau (MNA) – The merging process between the Administration of Airports, Ltd. (ADA) and the Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) is ‘now in the final stage’, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (AACM) has disclosed to Macau News Agency (MNA).
‘Throughout the whole process, AACM has been in close contact with CAM to ensure that the future operations of the airport activities will comply with the aerodrome certification,’ AACM stated in the reply.
According to ADA, the company has been a wholly owned subsidiary company of CAM since September 2011.
CAM is the public concessionaire of Macau International Airport, which it built and manages under a 50-year government concession, expiring in 2039, according to remarks on the company’s website.
It manages airport development, financing, and marketing, while subcontracting key airport operations to various specialist service providers such as ADA.
For ADA, it engages in airport operations, air traffic control, terminal management and facilities & maintenance management.
MNA also approached CAM for comment but had not received a response before the story was published.
