Macau | Nine proposals received for new Central Library

A total of nine proposals for the new Central Library project had been received by the Cultural Affairs Bureau on Monday, the Bureau has told MNA

Macau (MNA) – A total of nine proposals for the new Central Library project had been received by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) on Monday, the Bureau has told Macau News Agency (MNA).

The deadline for the open tender – launched on March 7 – for the project the IC calls the ‘Preparation of the New Macao Central Library’ fell due today, July 9, at 12:00 midday.

The new Central Library will occupy the facilities of the Old Courthouse building (pictured, top) and part of the former headquarters of the Judiciary Police (PJ) in downtown Macau near Nam Van Lake.

The Bureau had previously told MNA that the existing Central Library facilities located in Tap Seac Square will continue to serve as a community library.
