Macau | November foreign exchange reserves rise by 0.3 pct m-on-m

Macau (MNA) – The Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) announced that the preliminary estimate of the city’s foreign exchange reserves rose by 0.3 per cent in November to MOP158.9 billion (US$19.72 billion).

The trade-weighted effective exchange rate index for the pataca had also risen 0.44 points month-on-month and 2.3 points year-on-year to 107 in November, implying that the rate of the pataca had grown against the currencies of Macau’s major trading partners.

As of the end of October 2018, the foreign exchange reserves of Macau represented ten times the currency in circulation of 81.1 per cent of the money supply of the pataca.
