Macau (MNA) – Participation in the Global Tourism Economic Forum is scheduled in the programme of the fourth edition of the Youth Macanese Meeting.
Some 50 representatives of 13 Houses of Macau (Casas de Macau) spread worldwide will converge in the city between October 23 and October 28 to participate in a series of cultural and touristic activities.
Speaking to Macau News Agency (MNA), the President of the Macanese Youth Association, Jorge Valente Jr. said that the event is gathering more participants this year as well as one more House of Macau from England.
“We have good expectations about the event. We hope the Macanese participants who come here will return to their home countries and act as ambassadors of Macau,” said Mr. Valente Jr.
“This is a long-term investment,” he added.
In a press release, the president of the Association claims that the meeting is equally open to all young Macanese based in the city who would like to join the events.
In addition to participation in the Global Tourism Economic Forum, the programme of activities includes a visit to the Liaison Office of the Macau SAR Government, a guided tour in Macau and talks about the Patuá and the Macanese gastronomy to be held in the University of Macau.
The screening of a video about the Macanese diaspora produced by the Macau International Institute will be followed by the famous “chá gordo,” a copious afternoon tea with Macanese delicacies.
Amongst the main supporters of the event organised by the Macanese Youth Association and the Council of Macanese Communities are the Macao Foundation and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
