Deposits in Macau banks by Macau people increased to MOP480.9 billion (about US$60.11 billion) in April, 3.2 per cent less than the month before, official data indicate. Monetary Authority of Macau figures show deposits in Macau banks by outsiders grew by 0.8 per cent to MOP238.4 billion. The value of loans by banks was the equivalent of 85.3 per cent of the value of deposits kept in them in April, 1.5 percentage points less than the month before.
