Macau | Public tender for Islands District Medical Complex three main buildings announced today

Macau (MNA) – The Infrastructure Development Office (GDI) opened the public tender for the three main buildings of the future Islands District Medical Complex on Wednesday.

The contract will cover the construction of the General Hospital Building; the Logistic Support Building; and the Administration and Multi-Service Building.

The contract will also cover streets and infrastructures, automatic garbage collection system, bed linen and clothing, and the installation of lower-voltage energy systems for the future Workers Residential Building and the Central Laboratory Building.

The three buildings will occupy an 23,200 square meters area and will have a gross building area of about 276,500 square meters.

The public tender will accept companies not established in Macau and the maximum completion period project will be 1,150 working days, indicating that the buildings completion could take more than 3 years.

According to the GDI, mandatory performance deadline targets were set, with the maximum deadline for the completion of the basement until the ground floor slab set at 700 working days and the maximum deadline for completion of the ground-floor until the cover slab set at 200 working days.

Companies wanting to take part will have to apply until March 19, 2019 and drop a MOP190 million (US$23.5 million) temporary deposit.

The public tender will then be conducted on March 20 with deposit representing 5 per cent of the total contract value held after the contract is awarded.

The bids will be considered under the following criteria: price of the work 35 per cent, construction time 6 per cent, construction project of basement support structures 5 per cent, work plan 25 per cent, experience 18 per cent, experience of project managers 11 per cent.

Planning for the new health complex started in 2009, with the project including seven buildings – six building in the first phase of development and one on the second – of which only the Nursing College has already started construction works.
