Macau (MNA) – The quota fee for drivers who wish to drive on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) will amount to MOP30,000 (US$3,712), with the condition they first win the rights to do so through a lottery system.
According to a dispatch in the Official Gazette on Monday, the amount charged for participating in the lottery to gain a licence to drive on the super bridge will be set at MOP500, while replacement of vehicle, license plate or vehicle driver will be charged at MOP1,000.
In a press conference last month it was announced by the Transport Bureau (DSAT) that the licence will be granted based on a lottery system.
Up to 600 private cars registered in Macau will be allowed to cross to Hong Kong, while the number of government registered vehicles allowed to drive over is capped at 50.
Taxis have been capped at 100 vehicles for both the Macau and Hong Kong side.
