Macau | Sino-luso trade up 31 pct y-on-y

Macau (MNA) – Merchandise trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries increased 29.36 per cent year-on-year, amounting to US$89.42 billion (MOP718.57 billion) at the end of September, according to data from China Customs published by the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macao).

The eight Portuguese-speaking countries sold goods worth US$62.809 billion to China in the first nine months of 2017, posting a rise of 31.26 per cent from a year before.

The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$26.61 billion during the period under review, up 25.09 per cent year-on-year.

Monthly, the total trade between the parties reached US$11.00 billion in September, posting a marginal increase of 1.87 per cent from a month before.
In September, China imported merchandise from Portuguese-speaking countries worth US$7.70 billion, up 5.28 percent month-to-month, while its exports to Portuguese-speaking parties decreased 5.27 per cent monthly to US$3.306 billion.
