Macau (MNA) – The supplementary study on the feasibility of building the fourth bridge linking Macau Zone A and Taipa Zone E1 has been approved by Beijing, the Infrastructure Development Office (GDI) told Macau News Agency (MNA) on Thursday.
‘The supplementary study was approved by the central government in April,’ the GDI said.
The Office’s reply came after MNA has requested clarification following the publication of an official dispatch yesterday about a contract approved for bridge-related work – construction of the road network on the outskirts of the departure and arrival points of the bridge.
Supplementary information on maritime navigation security for the bridge was requested by the central authorities in January this year.
The GDI has not provided further information about the timeline for the construction of the structure, which will also feature an underwater tunnel.
