Macau | Transformer failure causes power outage in nearly 400 households on Sunday

Nearly 400 households were affected by a power outage on Sunday evening due to the failure of a transformer, and local media states that power was only restored at 2:05 am Monday, contrary to what CEM reports in its press release

Macau (MNA) – As of 6:33 pm on Sunday, the power supply of 396 households in the areas of Ho Lan Un and Guia were interrupted due to a transformer failure, according to a release by Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM).

Due to the power outage, Fire Services received a report of a man being trapped in a lift in the residential Horta e Costa Garden building, and successfully rescued him.

Meanwhile, the Public Security Police told TDM Radio that additional personnel were sent to the affected areas to strengthen patrols and also maintain public order.

CEM reportedly dispatched emergency teams and mobile generator on-site to
repair and provide support after hearing about the power outage.

However, the usage of its mobile generator caused part of the Horta e Costa Road to be closed, which required longer time for traffic coordination and wiring.

The release states that the power supply was resumed at 8:31 pm yesterday, but TDM Radio says that the repair was fully completed at 2:05am this morning.
