Macau | Two consortiums, two waste treatment contracts at MOP270 million

Macau (MNA) – A contract worth MOP211.04 million was granted to a consortium formed by Waterleau and OriginWater to provide services of operation and maintenance for the waste water treatment plants in Taipa and the International Airport of Macau, according to a dispatch in the Official Gazette on Monday.

The amount will be divided into five instalments, starting in 2018, with MOP54.78million to be paid to the consortium for the provision of services. The largest instalment or MOP67.72 million will be paid in 2019. Lesser, similar amounts will be paid in the three subsequent year, namely, MOP28.95 million in 2020, MOP30.13 million in 2021, and MOP29.44 million in 2022.

Waterleau is an environmental services and solutions company, which has been awarded previous contracts for sewage treatment on the Macau Peninsula and Taipa.

OriginWater – Beijing OriginWater Technology Co., Ltd. – is a high-tech enterprise founded in 2001, providing solutions for three main water issues: water pollution, water shortage and drinking water insecurity, according to the Shenzhen-listed company.

In another dispatch on Monday, the Macau SAR Government announced that a contract worth MOP58.97 million has been awarded to a consortium formed by Sinogal – Waste Services Co. Ltd. and Sino Environmental Services to provide services for the operation and maintenance of the waste treatment station for special and hazardous residues, according to an official dispatch in the Official Gazette on Monday.

The amount will be paid in two instalments of MOP32.12 million in 2018 and MOP26.85 million in 2019.
