Macau (MNA) – Typhoon Signal No. 1 has been hoisted at 10:00 am on Wednesday and will remain in effect during the day, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) announced.
As os 10:00 today, Typhoon Yutu was estimated to be about 700 kilometres Southeast of Macau.
It is forecast to move Northwest at around 12 kilometres per hour.
As previously announced, the intensity of winds is expected to increase from today until Friday.
The SMG’s advices on precautionary measures include checking the safety of objects that may be blown down or destroyed by the winds, checking, repairing and reinforcing the facilities such as scaffolds and hoardings, as well as clearing the drains.
Companies are also advised to check the the stability and safety of construction facilities, making sure that materials do not be blown or dropped.
Vessels should take all shelter measures and consider to seek shelter in haven.
