Macau (MNA) – Typhoon Signal No. 1 is currently in effect and will remain in effect at least until 4:00 pm on Thursday, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) announced in its latest bulletin.
As of 11:00 am today, Typhoon Yutu was estimated to be about 430 kilometres Southeast of Macau, being forecast to move north at around 12 kilometres per hour.
As previously announced, some of the precautionary measures under Typhoon Signal No. 1 should include checking the safety of objects that may be blown down or destroyed by the winds, checking, repairing and reinforcing facilities such as scaffolds and hoardings, and as clearing drains.
The stability and safety of construction facilities should also be verified in order to make sure that materials do not be blown or dropped.
Vessels should equally take all shelter measures and consider to seek shelter in haven.
