Macau (MNA) – Typhoon Signal No. 1 will be hoisted on Tuesday morning due to a tropical depression located south of Taiwan moving west towards the South China Sea, the latest bulletin from the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) stated.
The tropical depression is expected to gradually intensify and affect Macau by midweek, while storm, Typhoon Mangkhut, currently located near Guam, is also moving westwards towards the area.
According to the Bureau, Typhoon Mangkhut will intensify over the next few days and affect the coast near the South China Sea over the weekend.
The public is urged to pay attention to the latest tropical cyclone information due to the two typhoons approaching the South China Sea this week.
In addition, the Inner Harbour area might experience flooding from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm today due to astronomical tides.
