Macau (MNA) – According to the latest notice from the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG), Typhoon Mangkhut will enter within 800 kilometres of Macau on the morning of September 15, during which Typhoon Signal 1 will be hoisted.
Typhoon Signal No. 3 is expected to be raised during the night of September 15.
According to the latest update, the typhoon will enter the South China Sea on the morning of September 15, and will pose a ‘considerable threat’ to Macau and the Pearl River Delta.
Strong winds and heavy showers are expected on September 16, when there will be serious flooding in low-lying areas due to storm surge (for levels of 0.5 to 1.5 metres).
