Macau (MNA) – The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has hoisted Typhoon Signal No.3 at 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
Signal No.3 will remain effective before 6:00 pm today, the SMG stated.
Typhoon Barijat is located around 200 kilometres near the southeast of Macau, close to the Leizhou Peninsula north of Hainan.
The blue storm surge warning remained effective since 11:00 am, with the SMG predicting a rise in water levels of below 0.5 metres in the Inner Harbour area at 8:00 pm.
The super Typhoon Mangkhut, located in the Northwest Pacific, is moving westwards towards Macau, and will affect the coast near of Guangdong significantly at the weekend and pose a serious threat to the Pearl River Delta.
