Macau (MNA) – Over 900,000 visitors on package tours arrived in the Macau SAR during November, 24.6 per cent up year-on-year, figures by the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) showed on Friday.
In the January-November period in 2017, visitors by this mean totalled 7.72 million, up 12.9 per cent year-on-year. Month-to-month, visitors on package tours increased 14.8 per cent.
The number of Mainland visitors went up 26.2 per cent to 744,000, while the number of visitors from South Korea increased 41.5 per cent to 48,000 and Taiwanese 23 per cent up to 46,000.
The average occupancy rate of hotels & guesthouses stood at 90.4 per cent in November, up 3.3 percentage points year-on-year, DSEC informs, with the average length of stay of guests holding steady year-on-year at 1.4 nights.
The figures for the January to November period showed an increase of 10.4 per cent year-on-year, with the number of guests of hotels & guesthouses amounting to some 11.95 million.
Guests from Hong Kong dropped 25.1 per cent to 112,000, while mainland China guests increased 9.4 per cent to 768,000.
In the first eleven months of 2017, outbound residents using services of travel agencies totalled 1.26 million, up 11.6 per cent year-on-year, DSEC data showed.
