Macau (MNA) – An appeal to keep a land plot located in Seac Pai Van belonging to Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co. Ltd has been rejected by the Court of Second Instance (TSI), according to a release on Monday.
The land plot, which measures 5,235 square metres, was granted on November 30, 1990, with a utilization period of 24 months and a grant period of 25 years.
The Chief Executive, Fernando Chui Sai On, issued an order stating that the grant of the land grant period had expired on February 13, 2017.
For this case, the panel had argued that the expiration of the land plot due to a 25-year grant period was due to Yat Yuen not developing the land within the stipulated time period.
However, the opposition argued that the period of 25 years would still be valid under the old Land Law as well as the new Land Law, so there was no violation of the law.
This appeal was rejected on the grounds that Yat Yuen had not fulfilled its contractual obligations to develop the land plot within the period (within the utilization period) by the TSI.
Recently, Yat Yuen was fined for animal abandonment by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) for 500 greyhounds after a proposed site in Coloane to house the dogs failed inspections.
