Macau’s casino revenue up by 1.1% in August

Macau raked in MOP18.84 billion (US$2.36 billion) in gross gaming revenue in August, latest official figures released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau show. This is an increase of 1.1 per cent year-on-year, representing the first monthly increase after twenty-six straight months of slump in casino revenue in the city. The latest data also means that the accumulated gross gaming revenue for the first eight months of 2016 is at MOP144.4 billion, 9.1 percent lower than the same period in 2015.
