Macau | Mobile phone subscribers in Macau reach more than 2 million in September

The number of mobile phone subscribers went up 9.3 yearly, reaching 2,071,997 as of the end of September 2017

Macau (MNA) – Mobile phone subscribers in the Macau SAR went up 9.3 year-on-year, amounting to 2,071,997 as of the end of September, with stored-value GSM card subscribers representing 64.8 per cent of the total, according to data released by the Statistics and Census Services (DSEC) today.

The number of internet subscribers reached 388,200 during the period under review, more 8.7 per cent than the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the cumulative duration of internet use reached 923 million hours in the first three quarters of 2017, up 6.1 per cent yearly.

As internet subscriptions continued to rise, the number of fixed-line telephone subscribers went down 5.3 per cent year-on-year to 133,527 as of the end of September.
