Mozambique: EU to disburse €4.9 million to support NGOs

The European Union is planning to disburse €4.9 million to support organisations that work in the culture, human rights, citizenship and women empowerment sectors in Mozambique, according to an official statement

Antonio Sanchez-Benedito, EU ambassador, said during the signing of contracts that the invitation for the presentation of project proposals from these sectors was part of a bigger strategy, through which the EU supports and promotes human rights around the world.

Several Non-Governmental Organisations will be running activities in Cabo Delgado and Niassain provinces in the south; Sofala, in the centre, and in capital Maputo.

The EU opened the competcall for tendersition in 2017 and said it considered it to be a “highly competitive” process.
