Adelson puts US$5m into Republican campaign

Gaming mogul Sheldon Adelson likes a good bet, and after setting foot on solid ground in Las Vegas and Macau, the billionaire is now supporting Republican Newt Gingrich.
Adelson donated US$5 million (MOP40 million) to Gingrich’s campaign, the Financial Times reported.
The campaign has already entered a bitter phase, as Mitt Romney, a leading Republican candidate, “has more money to spend than his rivals,” the newspaper reports.
