Slated for 24 & 25 of June, the World Poker Congress (WPC) represents a unique opportunity for executives, tournament directors, poker room managers and operators of the world's poker businesses to meet and learn from each other's experiences and expertise. The focussed nature of the conference allows delegates to have productive conversations that lead to revenue-producing partnerships and innovation, as witnessed by several deals cemented at the 2008 WPC.

"The World Poker Congress is simply not like other conferences. In attendance are the decision makers from the most exciting companies in the poker arena – and they are there to do business," was the verdict from the Founder and CEO of the World Poker Tour, Steve Lipscomb, a regular speaker and champion of the event since its inception in 2005. Dag Palovic, Poker pro and President of the Slovak Poker Sport Federation noted"The first WPT event in Eastern Europe will be organized in September 2009 thanks to the World Poker Congress".

Including plenary sessions that bridge topics pertinent to both live and online poker and poker tournaments, WPC also includes breakout tracks that allow more in-depth investigation and discussion on each sector. Topics were selected based on feedback from delegates at the 2008 conference. Confirmed speakers include David Carrion of Cirsa, Bram Cops with Split Aces, Paul Davis of Chexx IOM and culminates in a high-powered closing keynote pairing two of the industry's most well-known figures: Steve Lipscomb of the World Poker Tour and Jim Ryan, CEO of PartyGaming.

The Congress will include a poker tournament for registered delegates, numerous networking opportunities and an exhibition of companies providing products and services to poker operators. "The World Poker Congress has been extremely valuable to ChiliPoker in terms of building business contacts and solidifying partnerships in both the online and live poker worlds, which is why we renewed the Lead Sponsorship of the event for the third consecutive year", said Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of ChiliPoker.com.
