It was another case of package tour gone wrong, as a group of tourists from Hubei province came to Macau on a tour organized by a Shenzhen travel agency.

Expecting to spend a night in the SAR as part of the package tour, the tour guide had received different instructions: to tour the city with the tourists during the day and send them off to Zhuhai where they would spend the night.

The dispute was settled with the help of the Macau Travel Industry Council and according to the Macau Tourist Office there was nothing illegal about what the tour guide had done.

The Travel Agency Council however, said it would strengthen communication with the Shenzhen Travel Agency Association as well as speak to the travel agency in question.

This is not the first such incident in Macau.
