Union Gaming Research says the Asian market is presenting an opportunity for growth to gaming supplier SHFL Entertainment Inc. In a research note issued on Tuesday, analysts led by Bill Lerner mentioned conversations with local gaming operators saying that SHFL “has an opportunity to gain market share in the Asian slot machine market”. The Union Gaming analysts highlight SHFL’s slot game “Duo Fu Duo Cai – Fu”, which they say “is performing well above house average in Macau,” with strong machine occupancy. According to Union Gaming, there will be a total of 23,600 slot machines coming through the Asian pipeline in the next four years via a combination of expansion and replacement. The research house says that in Macau, there is a market of roughly 9,500 replacement machines between 2013 and 2016. When the upcoming Cotai properties come online, Union Gaming estimates that there will be roughly 8,500 slot machines incrementally added to the market.
