Several local outlets selling Chinese New Year festive foods as discounted items are not actually selling them cheaper than in other places, the Consumer Council says.
The warning comes after a special price survey conducted on Monday, surveying seven festive food samples from 22 retail outlets regarding their selling prices.
As consumers tend to buy more of these festive foods during holidays, the Consumer Council reminds people to check and compare prices ahead of purchases.
