A set of counterfeit penholders has been on sale at the panda park since it opened.

After media reports on the issue, the government has rushed to remove such items from the souvenir shop shelves.

The penholders had a character from the Japanese anime film Totoro. The Japanese firm that holds the copyright rights over it had not authorized such use.

The government said it was already investigating the case and that it had contacted the product’s wholesaler in the mainland for further information.
