Fines for illegal land occupation to go up

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau is considering to “substantially raise” fines to tackle the illegal occupation of public land, it said in a press release quoted by Macau Post.
The fine revision is one of the amendments to the Land Law the government is preparing, which is expected to be sent to the Legislative Assembly for approval later this year.
Since March 2009, the government has seized 36 plots of illegally occupied public land.
