Macau’s composite consumer price index for November increased by 6.65 percent year-on-year.
The increment was attributable to higher charges for meals bought away from home and rising prices of clothing and gasoline, the Statistics and Census Service said.
The increase was below that registered in October, when the index went up 6.71 percent year-on-year.
It was the first time since the end of April that the composite consumer price index growth rate slowdown.
The composite consumer price index is Macau’s main indicator for inflation.
For the 12 months ended November, the average composite consumer price index increased by 5.57 percent from the previous period.
Chief executive Fernando Chui Sai On said earlier this month the government will continue to closely track the changing price levels of consumer goods and services, while expanding import channels of food products to Macau.
If inflation keeps rising, the government will roll out new relief measures in a timely manner, Mr Chui said.
